The Curriculum


The curriculum is based on a four year program of study. The first year is common to all students and involves a broad field of study to provide students with a solid foundation for the subsequent three years. This means that students will be exposed to all four branches of science: biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics. Following this students select a major in one of the four fundamental sciences based on their own particular interests.

The second and third years focus on core courses in the individual disciplines supported by training in the use of discipline specific modelling techniques. In their final year students choose more advanced courses from a selection of optional courses and undertake a research project under the direction of a faculty member chosen by the students.
